Hi, Team,

The minutes from our last meeting are now posted at http://libweb.williams.edu/committees/web/minutes/april0704.html
Questions or changes can come to me.

Some updates on our "Pages Under Review":

ILL MATRIX has been revised and lives at – http://www.williams.edu/library/borrowing/index.html

Appropriate links have been changed all over the site and the main Flash movie has a consistent category heading - "Borrowing from other libraries/ILL Forms." The matrix will is listed under this category heading within Finding Books, Finding Articles and You and the Library. I'm still working on creating links so users can go back to the matrix once they fill out a request form. Should be finished this afternoon, I think.

SEARCHING THE WEB - This category is outdated and it has been removed. If you look, the "Finding More" category in the main Flash movie now starts with "Quick Reference." Appropriate links have been changed all over the site, but the page still exists unlinked at http://www.williams.edu/library/tools/index.html. The tools folder will be left live for future projects. However, I think we need to start archiving unlinked files to avoid site bloat. I'll think some more about a solution and bring it up at the next meeting.

So, there you have it. Please let me know if you see any errors or the need for additional changes. At this point, another set of eyes is appreciated. I'm also work on crafting a libstaff email and blurb for the news box to address these changes.

Hi, All,

I have some good news and bad news. Bad news first... Joann has decided to step down from the web team. She was spread very thin and her additional duties with the BLC virtual catalog were going to continue to pull her away from the team. I spoke with David this morning and he suggested that for now we keep our team at five members. We can talk about whether or not this makes sense at the May meeting. In the meantime, let's keep in touch with Joann as we all know she will always have lots to contribute to the team. Thanks for all of your work, Joann.

And the good news... We have our first usability test scheduled for Wednesday April 14 from 1 to 2pm. Is anyone available to sit in on the session with me?

Hi, again,

I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I have started to re-organize the web team index page and draft some web creation guidelines that we might start to follow. Some of the guidelines apply to our web production environment; some do not. It's a rough draft and I'm not looking to override the previous guidelines. Comments are welcome.
