SEO - Search Engine Optimization

Pardon the jargon... After our discussion about how search engines are indexing sites at the last meeting, it occurred to me that the team might want to read a little more. SEO is a set of strategies web designers can use to make their site more accessible and readable for search engines. It's an evolving field, but here are two practical articles worth reading if you have some free time.

Sorry, the previous posts had some wrong urls and formatting issues.

I made a little adjustment to the stylesheet on the test server. It makes all links that appear within certain parts of the page appear as bold. It changes the look on all kinds of pages, but this may not be all bad. Here are some of affected pages:

new style subject guides:

http://137.165.201.112/library//subjectguides/chemistry/index.php

old style subject guides:

new style indexes:

Topic: Font Color for links.

Could we make the font color for the links a darker purple? I am noticing more and more that when links are embedded in text, the light purple/lavender tends to disappear making it very difficult to know that something is a link. For an example of what I mean, take a look at a page that Lori just created for Disserations:
http://www.williams.edu/library/how/dissertation.php The link at the end of each line is almost invisible. Could we create a great contrast or/and have a different color?
